Tootsie Roll candy was born in a small New York candy shop in 1896, and has now grown to be one of America’s most beloved candy varieties! After all, how can you not love chomping into a delicious Tootsie Roll, and enjoying its rich, gooey flavor? We’re big Tootsie fans here at, and we just love to celebrate the vibrant history of this chocolate-flavored candy as well as all the delicious Tootsie favorites such as pops and Frooties!

We all know that iconic Tootsie packaging: the brown background with “Tootsie Roll” in white letters, and that delicious chocolate flavor when you bite into it! Tootsie Roll candy has been a favorite since way back when, and when you think of America’s top classic candy favorites, chances are Tootsie roll candy is going to be on your list!

If you’re old enough to remember heading to the corner candy store for “penny candy,” we can almost guarantee you left with a sack full of Tootsie Rolls.

While the original Tootsie Roll has remained virtually unchanged over the years, the company has introduced so many delicious twists on that old favorite over the years, each paying homage to a classic we all love.

Tootsie Frooties quickly became a favorite for its fun flavors like strawberry, green apple, and fruit punch. Their bright packaging makes them so much fun to use in candy buffets, toss during parades, have out in reception and break rooms… and more.

Tootsie Pops are a fun way to combine the chocolate flavor we all love with a hard candy shell of a lollipop.  In addition to the classic Tootsie Pops flavors, Tootsie also releases several seasonal lollipops like caramel in the fall and cherry around Valentine’s day.

Tootsie Rolls – whether in the classic chocolate flavor, or in one of the sweet Tootsie Frooties flavors – are always a popular treat our customers love.  Next time you’re shopping for candy, be sure to pick up some of these nostalgic candy treats to bring back some memories.
