Crafting A Harvest Ready Brach’s Candy Corn Wreath

Candy corn is an orange, white, and yellow Halloween candy staple that many have a love-hate relationship with. Here at Blair Candy, we love grabbing a handful of Brach’s Candy Corn from our office candy bowl and snacking throughout the day.  It’s a simple candy, but so delish! Even better: candy corn is the foundation for a beautiful Fall wreath that only takes a few dollars and quality time to create.

Supplies:
    • A few bags of Brach’s Candy Corn
    • A Styrofoam wreath, about 16 inches around
    • Black duct tape
    • Hot glue gun
    • Large ribbon to hang the wreath, in a Halloween-themed color

Directions:

    1. Wrap the wreath completely with black duct tape. This will serve as your base for gluing the candy corn onto the wreath.
    2. Hot glue Brach’s candy corn onto the black duct tape in neat rows you’ll want to cover the entire front side of the wreath with the candy corn. It does take some time, but that’s why having another bowl of candy corn on hand to snack from while you’re gluing makes the time pass so quickly!
    3. Leave a space at the top of the wreath for you to secure the ribbon. We suggest an orange, yellow, or black satin ribbon. Simply tie it around the wreath and hang it on your door!

Although you can’t exactly snack on your wreath, be sure to pick up a few extra bags of Brach’s candy corn so you and your family can enjoy one of our Autumn candy favorites!

While yellow, white, and orange candy corn is what everyone is most familiar with, there are some other varieties you can use as well:

Brach’s Harvest Candy Corn
The rich brown, orange, and white colors of this candy corn will give your wreath an even more “fall” feeling.

Brach’s Bello Minions Candy Corn
Add a little mischief for your wreath by choosing a wild and wacky color with blue, yellow, and white candy corn, which just happens to be a favorite of those little Minions!

If you happen to get a lot of comments on your completed craft and friends and neighbors start asking you to make one for them, don’t worry!  We’ve got you covered with BIG bulk packages of candy corn!  In fact, big 30 pound boxes of candy corn in multiple colors (and flavors for snacking).

Halloween Candy on Hand? Try These Post-Trick-or-Treating Recipes!

Halloween is a marvelous time of year. The color, the costumes, and of course the candy! But if you’re like most people, you’re probably left with quite a bit of Halloween candy after all the trick or treaters have gone home. Not to worry! There are plenty of ways for you to repurpose and still enjoy Halloween candy after spooky season has ended.

Halloween candy pairs perfectly with other sweet ingredients to make decadent desserts and after-school treats that are great for enjoying any time. Here are a few of our favorite ways to make the most of Halloween candy. All it takes is a short trip to your pantry or fridge:

Frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Banana Pops
To make this post-Halloween candy treat, halve two bananas crosswise and insert a wooden stick into each piece. Put the bananas and 4 or 5 snack size Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in the freezer for a couple of hours. Coat the frozen bananas in 6 ounces of melted chocolate and sprinkle with the frozen peanut butter cups (chopped). Freeze on a parchment-lined plate until the chocolate sets. Serve and enjoy!

BONUS TIP: This recipe is also great with crushed-up Kit Kats, crushed Whoppers, chopped nuts, M&Ms, Butterfingers, or Heath bars!

SweeTarts Strawberry Shake
In a blender, blend together one pint of strawberry ice cream and a handful (15-16) SweeTarts candies. Add ¾ cup milk and blend until smooth. To thicken the mix, add in fresh strawberries. To thin it out, add more milk. Pour into chilled glasses and serve!

BONUS TIP: This recipe can be used with other candy flavors. For a chocolaty shake, use chocolate ice cream and crushed candy bars or peanut butter cups instead of SweeTarts. For a smooth nutty crunch, use peanut butter cups and vanilla ice cream. It’s as easy as ice cream, candy, milk, and blend!

Halloween Candy Popcorn Snack Mix
Combine popped popcorn, butter, marshmallows, sprinkles, and  M&M candies to create this fun and savory snack!  Add spooky eyes to the mix to make it even more ghoulish!  When it’s all done, just serve and enjoy!

BONUS TIP: This recipe can be customized with a variety of ingredients it’s all up to your unique tastes! Try adding cut-up Twizzlers or Junior Mints instead of M&Ms, using caramel corn instead of regular popcorn, or adding almonds instead of pecans!
