Most Popular Halloween Candy

There are two holidays that are closely associated with candy – Easter and Halloween. Both see candy manufacturers come out with special edition sweets to satisfy the sweet tooth we all seem to develop every spring and fall!

While unique confectionary delights are concocted by candy experts to tempt us or put a new twist on a classic treat, it seems we all love to gobble up the classics.

Halloween is a busy time here at Blair Candy and year after year we keep track of what the hottest selling candy is and believe it or not, it doesn’t differ much with the changing of the calendar!

So what exactly is the most popular Halloween candy? Well, here are the top 5 biggest sellers:

5. Candy Corn – Yes! Believe it or not, love it or hate it, Candy Corn made the top 5 and for good reason – you just can’t celebrate Halloween without it.

4. Skittles – Unlike Candy Corn, you can “taste the rainbow” year round, but Skittles are more popular during trick-or-treat season.

3. Snickers – A Snickers bar satisfies that afternoon craving you get between lunch and dinner, but guess what? The bite size version satisfies Halloween cravings so much so it’s the 3rd most popular candy bar this time of year.

2. M&Ms – Original or peanut it doesn’t matter, M&M’s are the second most popular Halloween candy. Maybe it’s because it’s such a classic, or because it’s that one chocolate candy that “melts in your mouth, not in your hands!”

1. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – Yes! The delicious combination of chocolate and peanut butter keeps Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in the number one spot year after year.

Were you surprised to see what made the list of the most popular Halloween candy? While Candy Corn may have been one that you never would have guessed, the others should have been pretty easy.

Why?

Because they’re simply delicious!

Delicious Chocolate & Yogurt Covered Pretzels for Fall

“These pretzels are making me thirsty!” You may remember that line from an episode of the wildly popular television show, Seinfeld. One of the show’s zany characters, Kramer, got a role in a movie and that was his one and only line.

We can’t help but remember that line every time we walk by all the different types of pretzel snacks we have in our huge candy warehouse. Just the other day, we received some new pretzel treats and one of our team members shouted, “these pretzels look delicious!”

The excitement in his voice caused a few of us to go running to see what came in. Well, needless to say, we opened up a box because… well… product testing you know!

Fresh for fall, two different types of delicious pretzels arrived. The first is a 15 pound box of yogurt covered pretzels that have a dash of sweet drizzled on them in festive fall colors.

The second box we opened is another 15 pounder, this time packed with chocolate covered pretzels with an orange drizzle.

If you’re planning a Halloween party, fall get together, movie night, or any special occasion that requires bulk candy and snacks, these are sure to be a hit.

Besides snacks like these chocolate and yogurt covered pretzels, we have plenty of candy available in bulk that’s perfect for candy buffets, parades, parties, and even for putting together your own holiday gift baskets. The possibilities are endless.

If these pretzels made you hungry, it’s time to pick up a box and start snacking!

Popcorn Balls – A Sought After Halloween Treat

Popcorn! You can’t sit through a movie without some or go to an amusement park without ordering a bucket. If you checked your cupboards, you probably have some just waiting to be popped when the urge for a snack hits.

Popcorn has been a popular snack for over a century, but things changed in 1982 when Pillsbury introduced a new way to whip up a batch of this buttery, salty snack thanks to a new kitchen appliance that became popular in the 70’s – the microwave.

While debate rages over whether microwave popcorn is better than stove popped corn, there’s no arguing over the fact that popcorn balls are the ultimate popcorn treat! In fact, these sugary balls of deliciousness are so popular that fans wait for them to be produced and gobble them up quickly.

The largest manufacturer of popcorn balls is Kathy Kaye Foods based in South Dakota. They produce thousands of these sought after treats seasonally with the biggest being fall / Halloween time.

Every year, our loyal customers email us asking when our shelves will be stocked with fresh Kathy Kay Halloween Popcorn Balls so they can order a supply before they’re sold out. This year is no exception!

While we recently told you that there will be no Halloween PEEPS produced this year due to COVID-19, we’re happy to say the popcorn balls are in stock, fresh, and ready for you to enjoy or hand out to all your trick-or-treaters.

Speaking of trick-or-treat, one review of these popcorn balls on our website from a customer says, “Every year the kids ask the “Popcorn Ball Lady” if she has popcorn balls. I found these last year, so ordered more for this year and can’t wait to see their little faces light up!”

If you want to be the house the kids seek out this Halloween, popcorn balls should be on the top of your list along with some of our most popular Halloween candy.

The next time popcorn balls will be available will be for Christmas, so stay tuned!

Marshmallow PEEPS Won’t Be Available for Halloween 2020

2020 will go down in the history books as the year we became experts in social distancing, learned that take-out and pizza delivery could be “contact-less,” had more visits to our front doors from the UPS driver than our closest friends, and worst yet…. was the year without Halloween PEEPS.

Yes, you heard that right friends. Halloween 2020 will be PEEP-less. Just Born, the company that makes the world’s favorite marshmallow treat was unable to produce this years batch of Halloween themed PEEPS candy that usually includes marshmallow pumpkins, ghosts, and cats.

We knew Halloween would look a little different this year, but we never thought our favorite fluffy treat would ghost us.

Oh 2021, please come quick!

So while PEEPS won’t be available this year, some of your traditional Halloween Candy favorites are still here ready for you to hand out to all the little ghosts and goblins who will be out for trick-or-treat.

If you’re looking for some unique treats to hand out, may be recommend:

KitKat Witches Brew
Your favorite chocolate covered cookie treat gets a spooky makeover for Halloween! While you treat your visitors with this unique treat, the ones who didn’t visit your house will be “green” with envy they didn’t stop by to get this green chocolate KitKat.

Oreo Spooky Head Eggs
Who doesn’t love Oreo cookies? Whether you eat them whole or split them in half and go for the cream first, it doesn’t matter. This special Oreo treat features a delicious filling made from Oreo cookies and cream, shaped like an egg, then covered in delicious milk chocolate. Individually wrapped and perfect for trick-or-treat.

Zombie Skittles
While your trick-or-treaters may expect to “taste the rainbow” when they open up this snack size pack of Skittles, a secret surprise awaits! Inside is a “Zombie” Skittle that tastes like… well… a rotten zombie. Will they love it or hate it?

We know there’s no substitute for PEEPS, and we’re definitely disappointed they won’t be available for Halloween. Unfortunately, they won’t be available for Christmas either due to COVID-19. However, the candy makers at Just Born are hard at work to make sure that Easter PEEPS will be available starting in early 2021.
