Vegan Candy Choices

Adopting a healthy lifestyle is something everyone should consider. Whether starting an exercise program, cutting carbs, or introducing plant-based items in your meal plan, every step towards better health is important.

One thing many people think they need to give up when making such changes is those sweet indulgences that give us a boost of energy in the morning, pick us up in the afternoon, or make for a special treat after dinner.

Our customers have been asking for additional options when it comes to candy and snacks, and we’re here to share some good news. We are expanding our line of vegan candy and snack choices with some delicious delights that we’re sure you’re going to love.

For example, for those who love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter (and who doesn’t), Cleo’s Vegan Peanut Butter Cups are simply scrumptious! These cups feature creamy peanut butter, made from dry roasted nuts, covered in a rice-milk chocolatey coating. Not only are they vegan, but they’re also made with all-natural ingredients, gluten-free and contain no trans-fats.

Buccaneer candy bars are great for those who are looking for a chocolatey snack that’s not only vegan but gluten-free and contains no artificial ingredients! These bars have a nougat center that’s robed in a rice-milk chocolate coating.

If you love cookie snacks, you’re gonna flip over our 2Fer Vegan Candy Bars that feature a crunchy shortbread cookie that’s layered with a rich buttery-tasting caramel covered in a chocolatey coating. One bite and you won’t believe this candy bar is vegan, non-dairy, and contains absolutely no artificial ingredients.

We’re not joking about this next one! For those who are fans of a Snickers style candy bar but are looking for a vegan version, your search is over. Jokerz Vegan Candy bars takes everything you love about Snickers – peanuts, caramel, and nougat – and coats them with a rice-milk coating that you’ll find hard to distinguish from chocolate.

Our candy experts are working hard sampling and hand-picking healthy candy options and more are coming in every week. Keep a sharp eye out on our website for the latest vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free candy as it arrives and be sure to let your friends and family know where they can buy healthy candy to fit into their lifestyle.

Solid Milk Chocolate Rabbits and Crosses for Easter

When it comes to Easter Candy, we all have our favorites. Maybe you’re a fan of delicious and uniquely flavored jelly beans or chocolate covered eggs, while another member of your family prefers the classic Marshmallow PEEPS. No matter what treat satisfies your craving, there’s no shortage of favorites this time of year.

Each Easter we’re always excited to see what new confectionary delights will make their debut but at the same time we anxiously await the arrival of what has become the quintessential fan favorite – solid chocolate rabbits and crosses.

After all, we LOVE chocolate and there’s no better pick-me-up in the middle of the afternoon than a chocolate bar, but at Easter time chocolate reigns supreme.

While the exact origin of the solid chocolate rabbit is unknown, some speculate it was invented in Munich, Germany back in the 1890’s. Here in the United States, they gained in popularity in the 1920’s and have been filling Easter baskets ever since.

Today, rabbits are available in solid milk, dark or white chocolate as well as more creative varieties such as the Gardner’s Peanut Butter Meltaway Bunny that’s 8” inches tall and is filled with their famous delicious and creamy peanut butter.

In addition to bunnies, another top-seller is a chocolate that reflects the religious meaning of the holiday – the cross. Also made by Gardener’s these chocolate crosses are available in both milk and white varieties and make a beautiful and meaningful addition to a child’s basket.

No matter what type of Easter candy you’re hunting for, you can’t go wrong with choosing one of these chocolate treats. Since rabbits and crosses are only available once a year it’s important to order early as once they’re gone, they won’t be available again until next year.

A Jelly Bean Shortage? Say it isn’t So!

Hang on to your Easter bonnet, we have some sad news to report out of Sugartown! The world’s most famous rabbit has been told there’s a shortage of a favorite Easter treat – jelly beans.

Yes, it’s true.

For over 75 years, the Easter Bunny has been using Blair Candy to fill the Easter baskets of kids all across the country and just this week he came to us with a bit of a dilemma. So many kids (and adults) have been asking for jelly beans that he was afraid there wouldn’t be enough to go around.

Faced with an unprecedented predicament, our team lept into action to investigate the bunny’s story. Turns out, he was right. The manufacturer of the #1 selling jelly bean, Just Born, has a shortage of the Easter candy staple and to put it bluntly, they’re plum out of them.

But we knew we couldn’t let the Easter Bunny down! Our team got in a truck, hopped down the Bunny Trail to Allentown, PA (not too far from our huge candy warehouse) to meet with the folks at Just Born.

With a tear in our eyes, we explained the Easter Bunny’s concerns about the lack of jelly beans. While huddled in a top-secret room in a corner of their factory, right next to where they make marshmallow PEEPS, we received some good news!

Since nobody wants to let the Bunny down, Just Born agreed to package up some of their delicious fruit-flavored jelly beans in 4.5-pound bulk bags for us. Now they don’t have fancy packaging and colorful labels, but they are genuine 100% authentic Just Born Jelly Beans in the fruity flavors we all love.

Phew! We dodged a close one, but we knew we couldn’t let the Easter Bunny down.

Now here’s the catch. Peter Cottontail has already taken several cases so he has enough to fill baskets. We have a limited number of bags available and when they’re gone we won’t be getting any more in until after Easter.

Don’t be left out, click here to order a bulk bag of Just Born Jelly Beans to avoid disappointment!

A Look at Our Favorite Nostalgic Candy

When it comes to old-time candy, we have to boast a bit because we have the largest selection of any online candy store and for good reason. Our family-owned company has been in the candy business since 1939 and many of our favorites have been around as long as we have – or longer!

Everyone has their favorite nostalgic candy, whether it be chewing gum, a candy bar, or penny candy. These old-time treats bring back sweet memories of a childhood filled with laughter and good times.

In today’s post, we’re going to take a trip down memory lane and share some of our favorite classic candy treats:

Nostalgic Gum
There are many types of old-time gum still manufactured today, but there are a handful that just by looking at the package you know exactly how they taste. One of these is C. Howard’s Violet Scented Gum. This chewing gum has been around since the 1960’s and one look at the package and you can almost smell the floral aroma and the gum’s unique taste.

Other runner-ups for our favorite nostalgic gum include Beeman’sClove, and of course Black Jack!

Valomilk Candy Cups
This classic has been around a few years longer than we have! First sold in 1931, Valomilk Candy Cups get their name from the V in vanilla, ALO from marshmallow and MILK for their milky smooth texture. One bite of these milk chocolate marshmallow cups and you’ll wonder why it took you so long to discover them.

Baby Ruth
Believe it or not, the Baby Ruth candy bar has been around since 1921! Depending on who you ask, the Baby Ruth bar was either named after Ruth Cleveland, the daughter of President Grover Cleveland, or the famous baseball player Babe Ruth. No matter who it’s named after, there’s no denying that people love the peanut, caramel, and milk chocolate-flavored nougat bar that has satisfied candy cravings for nearly a century.

Candy Cigarettes
While they no longer can be called “Candy Cigarettes,” those of us old enough to remember these “Candy Sticks” certainly remember their distinct flavor. Packaged and manufactured to look like a cigarette, complete with pink “lit” tip, these sugary sticks are among one of the hardest nostalgic candies to find.

Candy Cigarettes

Candy Buttons
Who doesn’t remember these? If you haven’t seen them for a while, you’re right. Candy Buttons were unavailable for a period of time, but due to popular demand, they’re back and better than ever. Relive your childhood by picking up a package and peel the dots off the paper and enjoy an old fashioned candy treat.

These are just a few of our nostalgic candy favorites and we may have listed one or two of yours as well. If not, don’t worry… we’ve got a huge selection to choose from! Plus we offer a giant can of classic favorites that make a great gift for a fan of these sweet treats.

Sugar-Free Easter Candy

There are two holidays we celebrate every year that are synonymous with candy – Halloween and Easter. With the latter just a few weeks away, many are shopping for treats to hide at Easter eggs hunts or place in baskets presumably left behind by a certain famous bunny.

Kids anxiously wake on Easter Sunday eager to dig into the variety of candy left for them while adults sit back waiting to sneak a piece for themselves.

For those who are keeping an eye on their daily calorie intake, or for those with specific dietary requirements, sugary snacks are not an option. However, we have plenty of sugar-free Easter candy that everyone can enjoy and they’re just as delicious.

Asher’s Sugar-Free Peanut Butter Meltaway Eggs
These are one of our biggest sellers every year and for good reason. These milk chocolate covered eggs are filled with a rich and creamy peanut butter filling that you just can’t get enough of. If you’re a fan of chocolate and peanut butter, don’t pass these up!

Sugar-Free Double Bubble Bubble Gum
What kid (or adult for that matter) doesn’t love bubble gum? If you’re looking for an every day sugar-free option or the perfect gum to place in eggs for an Easter Egg hunt, look no further. The great-tasting flavor of Double Bubble is available sugar-free and each piece is individually wrapped.

Jelly Belly Sugar-Free Jelly Beans
Easter just wouldn’t be Easter without jelly beans and the world’s most famous bean is Jelly Belly. These 3oz bags contain an assortment of popular flavors including buttered popcorn, sizzling cinnamon, tangerine, green apple, juicy pear, licorice, cherry, lemon, pineapple, and strawberry. The sugar-free Jelly Belly Jelly Beans are sweetened with Splenda and contain 40% fewer calories.

Sugar-Free Gummy Candy
Whether it be bears, butterflies, or fish, nobody can pass up a gummy treat. For Easter, as well as year-round, we have a great selection of sugar-free gummy candy that will satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.

Sugar-Free Chocolate Bunny
No Easter basket is complete without a chocolate rabbit and yes, we have a sugar-free version just for you! These 3oz chocolate rabbits from Gardners Candies taste just as delicious as the classic version – so much so you may have a hard time believing they’re sugar-free.

Hershey’s Sugar-Free Chocolate Bars
If you’re looking for the perfect sugar-free chocolate snack at Easter or any time of the year, these bite-sized Hershey’s Chocolate Bars are just what you’re looking for. Each one is individually wrapped so you can include them in Easter Eggs for the big hunt, or drop a few in your child’s Easter basket.

No matter what type of candy you’re looking for this Easter, chances are we have it. From the classic Marshmallow PEEPS to a jumbo  Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg, consider us to help fill your Easter baskets this year.
